WHAT TO WEAR TO LESSONS
  • Boots with a low heel. Gym shoes are acceptable for new students just starting out.
  • Equestrian helmets are required & provide if needed. Bike helmets are not acceptable. Students who plan to take regular lessons are encouraged to purchase their own helmet.
  • Riding gloves are not required & can be used at your discretion. When choosing gloves, look for grips on the palms and/or fingers. Many winter gloves are too slippery to hold the reins properly. If you need help choosing gloves, please check with your instructor.
  • Jeans/long pants. Please no shorts.
  • If riding in colder weather, dress in layers!
OTHER FAQ
 How often are lessons?
Lessons are open enrollment, not session-based. Meaning, you can start at any time & will ride at the same day/time weekly until you are moved up to the next level, or choose to stop taking classes.

This class no longer works with my schedule, how do I change the day of my weekly lesson?
Please call the office at 708-361-7977. It's possible you will be wait-listed if your desired time slot is full.

How long will it take for a student to be moved from Beginner to Intermediate?
Everyone learns at a different pace. Some students progress in just a few months & for others it may take longer. There is no "correct" amount of time. Students will be moved at the Instructor's discretion.

I took lessons elsewhere, what level do I sign up for?
Everyone is required to take a beginner class to be evaluated, the instructor can then place you more appropriately after they've seen you ride.

Can I request a horse?
Yes. However, we do not guarantee that you will ride the horse you requested.

What is the cancellation policy?
Please refer to the "Cancellation" tab.
